Google Chrome Extensions Beta Launched
This is a very good news for all Google Chrome users out there. Yesterday, Google Chrome released the Google Chrome Extensions with around 300 extensions already as well as the Google Chrome for Mac. But please take note to all Mac users that the Google Chrome extensions will work only for PC/Windows version of the browser.
Announcement on the release from Google Chrome blog:
“Today, we’re really happy to release a beta of extensions that begins to deliver on our initial vision. Extensions are as easy to create as webpages. Users can install and uninstall them quickly without restart, and extensions have a great polished look that fits in with Google Chrome’s minimalist aesthetic. When developers upload an extension it is available to users immediately, with limited restrictions and manual reviews only in a few situations.”
With this release, Chrome users will definitely be happy and excited to check out the different extensions. I still personally prefer Firefox with regards to the power of add-ons and extensions. The 300 Chrome extension definitely can’t be compared to the thousand of existing quality of Firefox add-ons, but Chrome can eventually get on that level. The good news is that, you don’t need to restart Chrome when installing or uninstalling extensions.
